Written Reply to Parliamentary Question on Using Airline Passengers' Personal Wheelchairs at Aerobridges instead of Airport-Provided Wheelchairs

04 Feb 2025In Parliament
Miss Rachel Ong asked the Minister for Transport whether Changi Airport ground services allow for persons with disabilities to request for their personal wheelchairs to be brought to the aerobridge during disembarkation instead of using the airport-provided ones and, if not, why.

Reply by Minister for Transport Chee Hong Tat:

1.     Changi Airport offers a range of wheelchair services to passengers. Depending on the airline and their commercial arrangements with their ground handling partners, passengers can request for their personal wheelchairs to be brought to the aerobridge during disembarkation. In cases where the airlines do not offer this option, passengers can request for wheelchairs provided by the airline, their ground handling partner, or the airport operator.
