Singapore Strengthens Transport Co-Operation with Uzbekistan

1.     Singapore and the Republic of Uzbekistan signed and exchanged a transport co-operation agreement on 17 January 2023. 

2.     Under the agreement, Singapore and the Republic of Uzbekistan will strengthen co-operation in the areas of civil aviation, land transport development, human resource development, and transport research and innovation. 

3.     The agreement was jointly signed in Singapore by Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Singapore, and Mr Ilkhom Makhkamov, Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The exchange of the co-operation agreement was witnessed by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Mr Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. 

4.     “The signing of this transport co-operation agreement between Singapore and Uzbekistan is a demonstration of our commitment to foster closer collaboration. We look forward to strengthening our bilateral ties through the exchange of ideas and best practices in the area of transport with Uzbekistan.” said Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Singapore.
