Singapore Concludes Open Skies Agreement with the Republic of Palau

1.     Singapore and the Republic of Palau (Palau) have concluded an Open Skies Agreement (OSA) between both countries. The Air Services Agreement (ASA) and Confidential Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services (CMU) were signed by Palau President Mr Surangel Whipps Jr, and Minister for Transport and Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations, Mr S Iswaran on 3 October 2022.

2.     The OSA allows airlines of Singapore and Palau to operate any number of passenger and cargo services between both countries, as well as beyond to any third country, with no restrictions on capacity, frequency, aircraft type, or routing.  

3.     Mr Iswaran said, “We are delighted to sign the Air Services Agreement and Confidential Memorandum of Understanding on Air Services with Palau, which demonstrates the close and growing relations between our two countries. As the aviation sector recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, this agreement reaffirms our commitment to further strengthen our connectivity to the benefit of trade, tourism, businesses, and our people.”
